My Social Anxiety (part 6)

Posted on Sep 28, 2008 under what is anxiety |

I was born into a Catholic family. I am more agnostic right now. I believe that everything happens for a reason. In other words, I have social anxiety for a reason. It makes me a stronger person…or maybe it prevented me from being a bad person. Either way, I intend on using what I’ve learned to make a difference in this world. We social phobics tend to think similarly. And what’s interesting is that our style of thinking is quite different than the way other people think. The first thing that amazed me when I watched other phobics talk on youtube was how alike we are. I thought I was the only person in the world like me. Do you think that our style of thinking is good or bad? (If you say both, is it more good than bad or vice versa?)

    It doesn’t …
It doesn’t necessarily have to be a bigger proportion of our minds that we are using compared to others, because in other things they are good at, we aren’t, and of course we know what that other thing is, in addition to having difficulties learning in many situations. But of course having SA makes us get experience and wisdom in other areas. If we experience both, we’d be far ahead for SA is a massive phenomena that requires a big change in an individual or at least the results would feel big..

    The way you think …
The way you think it’s NOT a problem in my opinion because that is EXACTLY who you are. btw I think you are “an old soul” you are and you always were (as you said) more mature than others. That’s a good thing, it doesnt make things and life easier but thats a whole new chapter. BTW you basement must be huge man … 10 minutes of walking lol.

i think it is a problem to a certain extent coz i cant help but long to be like “normal people”. But on the other hand, as i asked conciouscloud, do you think we are just strange people or are we just using a bigger proportion of our minds? I want everyones opinion on this x

    Sorry.This is the …
Sorry. This is the 3rd time I’ve tried to write this comment! I hope that 3 seperate comments don’t pop up! There is this book called How to Deal with Annoying People that breaks people up into 4 personality type: amiables, drivers, expressives, and analyticals. The everthinking analytical must analyze EVERYTHING whenever they do anything. The authors say that an analytical, as do all types deals with life, relationships etc. differently. And that it’s totally natural.

    comment continued.. …
comment continued…so it seems as if some people are just made to think. I’m not sure how that works with SA except that (please forgive me if I’m wrong) it seems that more just the act of thinking being a problem maybe it’s the type. For example having irrational, negative, and/or hurtful thoughts. By the way, I love your positivity and take on life. After watching your videos I always feel lighter of heart and happy that I’ve seen them.:) I Hope the first part of this posted!

i dont know ..i think it might be a problem because everyone tells us to try and stop the neg thoughts and realize that their not really real..but at the same time its like how can u just reverse the way our minds have been thinking

you know I have the EXATCTLY same toughts as you and so many SF, even the part about reincarnation. Its not wrong to be introspectiv, we care so much more for others and just understand them I think.

What I mean by that …
What I mean by that last comment is that ya, some are born into their religion more than others, but I think everyone is supposed to choose their religion. don’t ask me though, i’m agnostic. ;-)

That’s a pretty good video. I can’t tell you have SA, but then again, you can’t tell with me either…

    Keep up the videos.

Oh and by the way, I think EVERYONE decides on a religion.

    I love the way I am …
I love the way I am and how I think so differently, only wish I could kinda “turn it down” so to speak every now and then so I wouldn’t get so darn overanalytical and nervous about so much stuff. Anyway, great vids man. You gotta lot of em done this week! Keep em up!

    Glad to see I …
Glad to see I inspired this video! But yeah, I think that there might be something to reincarnation too. Ever get that feeling like you understand everything, just for a few seconds, then it goes away? I get that sometimes. But I think that overthinking is good and bad.
